SHIRAZ

The town of Shiraz with its gardens, tombs of the poets and the ancient Persepolis, is located in the Fars province which has led to the name of the country as Persia, today known as, Iran. The easy-going surroundings appeal to many Iranians. Around the city of Shiraz is living the Ghashghai nomads and their rugs are traded withinside the massive bazaar; occasionally under Ghashghayi and/or Shiraz. When speaking of Shiraz rugs in common, it is a more simple design rug with pile, warp and weft made of wool.
